The Bare Minimum: Opening and Closing Trades

Learn how to react to trade alerts and how to close your trades for the correct profit targets.

Opening/Placing Trades – Reacting to real time Trade Alerts

In this session, we will show you how to take proper action on the trade alerts you receive on our private Discord channel. When you get an alert,  you may or may not be in front of your computer. But the trades I pick are not meant for you to copy them at the same exact moment. There is a time window of possibly hours and even days that you can react to the trade alert and put on a position which is similar to the one I posted. In fact, if you wait a little, you might even get a better fill or advantage over my own trade.

Closing Debit Spreads at Profit Targets

In this video we walk through the process of closing Debit Spreads for the profit targets we use for this trading method. We typically closed our trades at 90% – 94% ROI on the money invested. Although, debit spreads can make 100% profits, we don’t aim for that to avoid exercise and assignment scenarios.

We will cover Tastworks and ThinkorSwim, but the concepts used should be similar and applicable to any other trading platform like Fidelity, Robinhood, IB, eTrade etc

ThinkOrSwim: Settings Alerts to monitor your Trades

Alerts on ThinkorSwim is a powerful feature. Some people like to have more control over how their trades are closed. TOS can send you push notifications when your position goes up or down in value and hits a certain threshold.

Instead of using stop-losses or trailing stops, to automatically close your trades, you can get notified when it is time to take action.

CASE STUDIES

I have shared with you a full blown trading system which is a result of my own trials and tribulations over 15 years of my own trading career. But what you get out of it largely depends on your own discipline and how effectively you apply it to your own trading.  I have compared and contrasted 2 traders from our group in the hopes that you don’t make the same mistakes as Trader#1 and replicate all the awesomeness of Trader#2 in your own trading.

Common mistakes new members make.

A trader reached out to me saying their account wasn’t making any progress even after 1 full year of joining our group. This is highly unusual despite all the corrections and crazy markets we have faced in this trading cycle. Without revealing who they are, I am sharing some of the things that they have not done right with the hope that you don’t make the same mistakes. We are all here to learn and grow together, so I hope one person sharing their mistakes helps many others.

Case Study of a “Poster Child”, a.k.a => Jesse

After the case study covering common mistakes was published, several traders reached out to me with their success stories and I was overwhelmed with the emails/DMs. Jesse in this case study seems like a “poster child” of the trading method.

He has been able to apply it to not 1 but 4 of his accounts with great success. See if you can pick some tips from his trading style.

Point of No Return (PNR)

(A method for avoiding full losers)

The 50% loss rule is as easy as it gets. But in real life, the rule is more nuanced than it appears to be. You will encounter many situations where the stock immediately turns against you and you are left wondering if you should cut the loser at 50% loss even when there are more than 15 days left to expiration.

Instead of closing a trade out of panic or gut feel, this case study explores a method which can help you figure out if a trade could become a full loser.
